Knowledge Base
If you are new to UEFI, OVMF and firmware foundations, we recommend to start here.
Open knowledge enables independent verification, and independent verification is a foundation of trust and a core enclaive value
Note on Sharing Knowledge
At enclaive, we believe that sharing knowledge is fundamental to building secure and trustworthy infrastructure. Technologies such as UEFI, EDK II, virtualization, measured boot, and confidential computing are powerful, but their complexity can make them difficult to understand, review, and operate securely. Security should not depend on knowledge held by a small group of firmware specialists. With Sylica, we therefore want to do more than publish firmware: we want to make the technology underneath it understandable. This documentation explains the concepts, architecture, and design decisions behind UEFI and EDK II so that cloud engineers, security engineers, researchers, and curious developers can understand what happens before an operating system starts, reason about the resulting trust boundary, and contribute their own ideas and improvements.
